Fortuna's Oracle

Fortuna's Oracle

The sun enters Libra today at 5:18 pm EST. It is the Autumnal Equinox,or Mabon on the Celtic calender. A point of equiibrium. The day and night meet in balance but now the dark grows and the light of day shortens. This is the final harvest, In Welsh myth, Mabon is the son (sun) of Modron, the Earth Mother. At this time Modron laments the loss of her son Mabon, who was taken from her very soon after he was born. In actuality, he has gone into her magical womb to be reborn as her champion- The Son of Light.

5. STAR IN THE WEST: What is promised
6. SEEDS OF THE SUNFLOWER: To save and store
6. SPIRIT OF THE CORN: Guidance of the time

No sista! I wish I did the painting as well, but I can't claim it. I found it as an image for Modron.

FRom Faery Wicca:

1. TURNING AXIS: Equilibrium attained. Two of Aer--A ha! What goes around, comes around. What the little green book calls "karmic balance." Best to think before acting. I could have used this advice earlier this week when I impulsively acted and then suffered the consequences!
2. RUSSET LEAF: How to greet the change. Seven of Domhan (Pentacles) A blocked door of bad habits. Time to access my strengths and the wealth of spirit around me and get out of the box (or the door!) Leaves will change color and fall but new life will stir. A time of incubation for new ideas and actions.
3. FINAL SHEAF: What I have learned from the light: Ainnir of Time - To follow the shafts of light until they are no longer visible--appreciate each dawning day!
4. MODRON'S TEARS: What I have yet to learn from the dark. The Apple Branch-According to the little green book that accompanies the cards a faery guardian is available to help me navigate in the dark and voyage to other-world places I also see that in Modron's tears I must learn to accept the dark places. This is where new life will grow. Out of the darkness new blossoms will work their way into the light. This cannot happen without the darkness and death of the old.
5. STAR IN THE WEST: What is promised- Five of Tine Perhaps a difficult time ahead. Time to say goodbue to several very near and dear to me.
6. SEEDS OF THE SUNFLOWER: To save and store Three of Domhan Time to work and refine writing works-in-progress. Plant for the future harvest!
6. SPIRIT OF THE CORN: Guidance of the time: Six of Uisce-Second draw for this card this week...A turning inward toward inspiration. Perhaps inspiration from long ago. Childhood memories or loves long past.

In regards to your last card...you may be amused to hear that I had dinner with Marc Silag last week!!!!
40 years....it's been. Some serious childhood memories. You've been on my mind a lot lately.
Thank you for sharing your Mabon Spread with us. I haven't done mine yet. I got disoriented from going up to the farm with no internet. Tomorrow I'll get to it and post.
