Fortuna's Oracle

Fortuna's Oracle

Today is the New Moon. Virgo is associated with RITUAL, healing and purification.
The New Moon is a time to embark on something with a fresh perspective....moving toward fulfillment at the "full" moon. If you have the time today or over this weekend see if you can create a Ritual for the New Moon in Virgo. It doesn't need to be anything elaborate.
You might refer to the one I wrote a few years ago just to get a notion

New Moon in Virgo Ritual

This new moon occurs in September. Late summer gives way to the darkening days of autumn. The final harvest is gathered. Time to turn inward as the Earth sheds her green gown in favor of the reds, russets and golds that herald the coming winter.. all begins to sleep.

Purpose: In tune with this turning inward, this ritual will direct our energies into the recesses of our soul. To better understand ourselves and seek our shadows-great teachers from which springs healing.

Ivy (Gort) and the wolf:
In the Druid Ogham (Celtic Tree Oracle), Ivy or "Gort" represents the spiral of the self in search of the self. Turning inward and outward, treading the labyrinth and learning to see with the eyes of the soul, reality is shifted and made new..
The wolf is the Hermit's companion..teaches us to trust ourselves and not to fear and reject the shadow parts of us that we do not understand. By incorporating them, we become whole.

Time: On the New Moon in Virgo. Twilight, if possible

Ritual Accessories: A dark cloak or blanket. A bright blue candle and a black or dark red /rust candle. Th Hermit and the Moon Tarot cards. Ivy that you have gathered and an image or figure of a wolf. Virgo Incense- available on line, or one of your choosing. journal and pen.

Prepare:

Light the incense and candles . This can be on your altar. Place the Hermit on the right and the Moon on the left. Wrap yourself in the dark cloak or blanket.

INVOCATION:

SAY:

Gort!
The face of the moon is dark.
But the crescent will surely grow.
Emerging new and luscent!
like your turning leaves
spiraling in and out
sending new , trembling shoots..
growing, climbing.
Aid me now as I turn inward.
Seeking the secret seed of my being!

Wolf!
The moonlight wanes
silent shadows vaguely appear and cascade as
silent teachers .
Clever guide, tread the hidden paths
lead me to the shadowlands deep within my dream.
Where i may find the hidden pearl!

Sit, Breathe deeply..begin to see yourself poised at the entrance to a great labyrinth. A wolf is in the ivy near-bye.
Hold this image and make it as real as possible using all of your senses.
the wolf approaches, enter the shadowy Labyrinth... continue your journey on to the center, there is a message or gift for you.

When you come out of meditation, write down your experience. Thank Gort and the wolf for their aid. Over the next few days, record further impressions or any dreams.
